I call myself an online marketing expert because to me the term “digital” is redundant… – because all marketing is digital now.
Unless your print and offline marketing is laid up on a pasteboard with scissors and glue, then it can not be anything but digital. If you use a computer to create your campaigns then your marketing is – by definition – digital.
To me therefore the key differentiator is online versus offline. For me, this gives a better focus, a better way of thinking about it… – and if you are a knowledge worker – that is you are literally paid to think about things – then it can be hard sometimes to turn it off!
